Dakota Lee

Born on the 9th of February 2015, Dakota Lee is a first of its kind in South Africa. By day we cater to the tattooed masses of Johannesburg, and by night we make memories and brand new friends at the bar at the far end of the shop.

The main aim of Dakota Lee is to create a friendly environment that breaks free from the old tattoo shop stigmas that remind us of old burly biker men with greasy beards and faded tattoos. Situated in the richest square mile in Africa, Sandton, Dakota Lee strives to give us top class service from front to back- the opposite of what we think of when we think of a cringe worthy tattoo industry. Tattoo booths filled with five star quality tattoos, a beautiful and warm interior that makes friends coming along for moral support feel welcome and entertained, a bar stocked with the best quality liquors and all your favorite imported beers. We think of our shop as we do of our city Johannesburg- Golden.

The concept of Dakota Lee was thought up by the founder and owner, Ryan Lee. Ryan was inspired by the vast growth of South Africa’s tattoo community and aimed at making tattoo shops approachable. Ryan also drew inspiration from his international travels and the ways tattoo shops have grown in Europe and worldwide as opposed to South Africa. Dakota Lee gives you a taste of international quality right down the road from our beloved Sandton City.
